If you are any graduate looking for a stable, respected, and well-paying central government job, this is one of the biggest opportunities of the year.
SSC CGL is not just one job — it is a gateway to dozens of prestigious central government departments including the Income Tax Department, Central Bureau of Investigation, Ministry of External Affairs, Audit and Accounts departments, and many more. A single exam opens the door to posts like Inspector, Assistant Audit Officer, Excise Inspector, and Junior Statistical Officer — roles that come with job security, government benefits, pension schemes, and significant respect in society.
What makes the 2026 notification particularly attractive is the massive vacancy count of 12,256 posts — one of the highest in recent years. With application window open from 21st May to 22nd June 2026, candidates from every state in India, including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, are eligible to apply. There is no minimum percentage requirement — simply passing your graduation in any stream qualifies you.
At CareerFlowHub, we track dozens of government job notifications every month, and SSC CGL consistently stands out as one of the best opportunities for graduates. First, the salary range of ₹25,500 to ₹44,900 per month is excellent for entry-level government positions, especially considering the additional allowances, pension benefits, and job security that come with central government roles. Second, with 12,256 vacancies, your selection probability is significantly higher compared to years with fewer openings. Third, the application fee is just ₹100 — and completely free for women, SC, ST and Ex-servicemen candidates. Our recommendation is clear — if you are a graduate without a job right now, apply today. Do not wait until the last few days.

Tier 1 is an objective type online exam covering General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. 100 questions, 200 marks, 60 minutes duration. Expected in August–September 2026. This is the qualifying round to advance to Tier 2.
Tier 2 is a more detailed exam with multiple papers depending on the post applied for — covering Mathematics, Reasoning, English Language and Comprehension, General Studies (Finance and Economics for certain posts), and a Data Entry Speed Test for some positions. Expected in December 2026.
Shortlisted candidates based on Tier 1 and Tier 2 combined scores undergo document verification to confirm educational qualifications, age proof, category certificates, and identity documents. Certain posts (Inspector roles) also require a Physical Standard Test and Medical Examination.
Go to ssc.gov.in — this is the only legitimate application portal. Do not apply through WhatsApp forwards, unknown websites, or third-party agents claiming to offer "guaranteed forms".
New candidates must complete One Time Registration with basic details — name, date of birth, email and mobile number. If already registered in previous years, simply log in with your existing credentials.
Select "SSC CGL 2026" from the active notifications, fill in your educational qualification, category, address and preferred exam centres accurately. Double-check every detail before submission — corrections later are limited.
Upload a recent passport-size photograph and signature as per SSC's specified format and size. Keep scanned copies of your educational certificates and category certificates ready for future verification.
Pay ₹100 through online payment methods (UPI, Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card). Women, SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-servicemen candidates are exempted. Submit before 22 June 2026 and complete fee payment by 23 June 2026.
Download and save your application confirmation page. Immediately start preparing for Tier 1 — do not wait for the admit card. Tier 1 is expected in August-September 2026, giving you 2-3 months to prepare.
SSC website typically crashes in the last 2-3 days due to heavy traffic from lakhs of applicants. Apply now to avoid technical issues, payment failures, and last-minute stress.
SSC CGL pattern repeats heavily year on year. Solve at least 10 previous year papers for Tier 1 — this alone gives you a strong understanding of difficulty level and time management.
These two sections have the highest scoring potential with practice. Dedicate the first month to building speed in Quantitative Aptitude and accuracy in Reasoning before moving to GK and English.
General Awareness section heavily tests current affairs from the last 6-12 months. Spend 20-30 minutes daily reading news and monthly current affairs compilations to maximise this section.
